Job description

As a Starbucks Barista at Banff Gondola, your daily pursuit is simple: to craft high-quality beverages and create a memorable experience for every customer. You’ll become the face of our café, serving high-quality food items and beverages, building relationships with your teammates and customers, and contributing to a positive, energetic environment.

What will you do in this job?

The Food and Beverage Supervisor, under general direction, trains, schedules, and directs frontline staff to perform their duties to Guest Experience standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and verification of daily cash reports.
  • Ensuring accurate cash, debit, and credit card transactions.
  • Training staff and ensuring everyone feels confident in their role.
  • Supervising and supporting on the floor.
  • Coordinating Food and Beverage orders and inventory.
  • Updating staff schedules and changes.
  • Interacting with customers and maintaining the highest level of customer service.
  • Involved in the making of and receiving food/drink orders.
  • Receiving payment for all services provided to the customer.
  • Listening and responding to customer complaints.
  • Ensuring the work area is clean and organized at all times.
  • Relieving Servers as required.
  • Upholding the high standard of environmental stewardship expected for all employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment.
  • Mature, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Natural ability to lead a team.
  • Detail-oriented with good communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Some accounting experience is an asset, along with experience with Word and Excel.
  • POS system experience is an asset.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • High volume experience.
  • Ability to handle stress in a professional manner.
  • Enjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
  • Must meet the organization’s grooming and appearance standards.
  • All employees must consent to a criminal record check to uphold our commitment to “Always Honest”.
  • Previous Barista experience is an asset.
