We have an opportunity to join the DCYF HR team in a high-impact staffing role where you’ll partner closely with leaders to shape recruitment, selection, compensation, and classification strategies.

In the Staffing Specialist 2 role you will provide journey-level professional human resources services and technical support to supervisors, managers, employees, and HR staff across the agency. The position assists with a variety of human resource functions, including recruitment, selection, classification, and compensation. Primary responsibilities include supporting hiring managers and supervisors with vacancy fill activities, conducting routine job audits, and assisting with position allocation reviews and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in full cycle recruitment and selection.
The Above Experience Must Demonstrate
  • Knowledge of equal opportunity principles and/or affirmative action concepts to evaluate and administer employee selection criteria and processes.
  • Experience with advising or assisting hiring managers on recruitment processes, best practices, and selection methods.
  • Experience in analyzing compensation and conducting job analysis/classification work while making recommendations on job alignment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and agency guidelines to ensure equitable and compliant hiring practices.
  • Capacity to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and identify opportunities to improve recruitment workflows and outcomes.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with sensitivity and discretion to resolve issues with varied and diverse clientele.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a Human Resource Information System (HRIS), preferably PeopleSoft, sufficient to post job announcements, screen resumes, and route candidates.
  • Knowledge of State of Minnesota personnel laws, rules, administrative procedures, policies, collective bargaining agreement provisions, and processes related to recruitment, selection, and job classification sufficient to independently administer these functions and provide guidance to other HR staff and managers and supervisors.
  • Experience contributing to HR projects, process improvements, or change management initiatives.
  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
