Nu in Toronto, Canada, seeks a Staff Software Engineer for AI & Credit Card Platform to shape how credit card products launch in new markets. You will lead across multiple squads, drive AI transformation, and contribute hands-on when needed.

You will architect reusable country-launch capabilities, translate regulatory needs into scalable product behavior, and guide architecture across CC Factory components such as Collateral Lines and Cashback.

Qualifications

• Staff-level software engineering across multiple teams and domains.
• Design and shipping reusable platform or systemic solutions.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI (coding agents, tools, context engineering or RAG).
• Strong backend and distributed-systems depth with architectural authority across products.
• Ability to operate under deep ambiguity and progress when requirements are uncertain.
• Quantitative rigor: define baselines, run experiments, measure outcomes.
• Strong technical leadership and influence without authority across stakeholders.
• Clear written and spoken English for technical plans and playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Build the Country Launch Engine to enable rapid credit card launches in new markets.
• Automate country readiness by translating requirements into architecture and product behavior.
• Drive AI transformation across the CC Factory and scale effective practices.
• Build domain-grounded AI systems with reliable outputs.
• Define AI risk and governance including human-in-the-loop controls and auditability.
• Lead technical architecture across squads, guiding across Collateral Lines, Cashback, and related platforms.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance and platform teams on direction and priorities.
• Stay hands-on by prototyping and coding when needed.
