Job summary

Workstream is hiring a talented Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our growing engineering team. This role emphasizes building cloud-based solutions for deskless workers and collaborating with product managers and engineers to deliver well-scoped features.

You will work in a hybrid setup with in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays to support cross-functional collaboration, and you will contribute to a culture of high-quality software with a focus on scalability and performance.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, PHP, or JavaScript for full‑stack development.
• Experience building scalable, high‑availability systems.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Redis or Memcached.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Advantage: NextJS or other modern frontend tech.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our growing engineering team.

This is a full-time, hybrid position with 2 days a week, every Tuesday and Thursday in-office to support close cross-functional collaboration.

Day In The Life

• You are a seasoned Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in full-stack application development.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and peer engineers to deliver well-scoped product features.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Engineering, Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams.
• You advocate for and practice test-driven development (TDD) to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software.
• Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Who You Are

• 8 to 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, PHP, or JavaScript, with experience developing full-stack, high-performance, and high-availability applications.
• Strong foundation in programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience with building scalable systems and test driven CI/CD commitment to quality software development.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB, have comprehensive understanding of the decision-making process between SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Demonstrated experience in designing distributed systems with a holistic perspective.
• Keep up with the latest technological trends and continuously improve productivity.

Salary Range

In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is between $190,000 CAD to $230,000 CAD ( $140,000 to $170,000 USD). This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
