Job summary

Workstream is seeking a talented Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our growing engineering team in a hybrid role. You will work with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable features, advocate for quality through TDD, and contribute to cloud-based solutions for deskless workers.

We value strong fundamentals in software engineering, experience with SQL/NoSQL, Redis/Memcached, and a good grasp of distributed systems. Fluency in English; bilingual in Chinese is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience building scalable systems with test-driven CI/CD.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud platform.
• Experience designing distributed systems with a holistic perspective.
• English and Chinese bilingual preferred.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our growing engineering team.

This is a full-time, hybrid position with 2 days a week, every Tuesday and Thursday in-office to support close cross-functional collaboration.

Day In The Life

• You are a seasoned Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in full-stack application development.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and peer engineers to deliver well-scoped product features.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Engineering, Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams.
• You advocate for and practice test-driven development (TDD) to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software.
• Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Who You Are

• 3 to 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience with building scalable systems and test driven CI/CD commitment to quality software development.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB, have comprehensive understanding of the decision-making process between SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Demonstrated experience in designing distributed systems with a holistic perspective.
• Keep up with the latest technological trends and continuously improve productivity.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred

Salary Range

In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is between $150,000 CAD to $190,000 CAD ( $110,000 to $140,000 USD). This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
