Job summary
AFFIRM is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the CI team and shape the future of our continuous integration and developer productivity infrastructure. You will design and optimize pipelines, build systems, and testing strategies to empower engineers to ship quickly and reliably.
You will mentor CI engineers, collaborate with engineering leadership to align CI with product goals, and evangelize best practices in a remote-first environment with strong tooling and automation focus.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading CI and build systems and developer productivity initiatives.
- Strong programming background in Python, Kotlin, Java or similar languages.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
- Experience with managing build systems for large monorepos and open source engagement is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, scalability, and reliability of build pipelines across services and platforms.
- Improve feedback cycles by optimizing build times, test coverage, and reporting.
- Lead tooling, automation, and best practices to raise developer productivity and reduce toil.
- Mentor CI engineers and align CI systems with broader product goals.
