Job summary

lululemon is seeking a Staff AI/ML Engineer in Vancouver to define the AI/ML engineering approach, tackle complex model development, and improve training infrastructure and system reliability. You will shape AI product strategy, influence multiple teams, and mentor senior engineers in a high-impact, growth-oriented environment.

The role emphasizes responsible AI, governance, and scalable ML engineering across lululemon's data & AI platforms, with onsite collaboration four days per week in Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 9–12 years of AI/ML engineering experience defining strategy and standards.
• Ability to set software engineering standards for complex AI/ML applications.
• Experience designing architecture for large-scale models with training infrastructure.
• Proven MLOps strategy including CI/CD and deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Define technical vision and strategy for AI/ML engineering platform across development, training, serving, and governance.
• Address large-scale training instability and reliability challenges in production systems.
• Set standards for experiment reproducibility, model evaluation, and responsible AI.
• Drive frontier AI techniques including foundation model training and fine-tuning methods.
• Consult with senior leaders on AI system architecture and long-term engineering implications.
• Lead design reviews and mentor senior engineers to grow AI/ML capability.
