Job summary

MDD in Toronto is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Forensic Accounting team. The role supports accounting engagements, analyzes data, and reviews source documents with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency.

The successful candidate will have a degree, pursue CPA, and gain hands-on experience in a global forensic practice. Hybrid work model allows remote work with in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters or upcoming graduate.
• Working towards the CPA designation (CPA).
• Up to 3 years work experience (post degree).
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to work under pressure/ tight deadlines.
• Understanding of how loss events impact a business.
• Willingness to take increasing responsibility as experience grows.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, Outlook & MS Teams.
• Additional language skills are an asset.

Our Toronto office is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team for May or September 2027. Tracing its roots back to 1933, MDD is one of the world’s top forensic accounting firms specializing in economic damage quantification calculations. With forensic accounting professionals in over 40 offices on 5 continents, MDD has global resources to assist our clients with their forensic accounting needs. MDD helps insurance companies, independent adjustment firms, multinational corporations, government entities, and individuals calculate the true economic damage of claims or disputes. MDD is looking for a Staff Accountant to serve as an essential supporting function of the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a sound technical background in accounting/finance, possess strong communication and analytical skills, and can work independently.

Key Responsibilities
