DMCL LLP in Victoria, BC, is seeking a Staff Accountant for our Entertainment Group to join a tight-knit, high-performing team supporting artists, creators and industry professionals. You will manage the full cycle of payables and receivables while gaining exposure to business management accounting across payroll, reconciliations, external filings, and client advisory.

This hands-on role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and initiative, with a set hybrid schedule and opportunities for CPA

Qualifications

• 1–3 years accounting experience required.
• Experience with full cycle bookkeeping.
• Experience with payroll and reconciliations is a plus.
• Experience with GST/HST, T4s, T5s filings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage full cycle of accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare invoices, billings, and tour reconciliations.
• Handle payroll calculations and government remittances.
• Prepare external filings (GST/HST, T4s, T5s, etc.).
• Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Support clients with everyday financial questions and planning.
• Learn the nuances of business management accounting with attention to detail.

• Pay or shift range: $55,000 CAD to $65,000 CAD.

  We’re committed to fair and transparent pay. The salary for this role is based on a 35-hour work week, which is standard at DMCL. This work week is up to 14% shorter than some comparable positions with other organizations. Ask us more about working extra hours if you are interested in enhancing your compensation. Are you passionate about numbers and music? At DMCL, we’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Entertainment Group who are a tight-knit, high-performing team that supports artists, creators and industry professionals through every stage of their careers.

This is a hands‑on accounting role where you’ll manage the full cycle of payables and receivables, support clients with day-to-day financial needs, and gain valuable exposure to business management accounting across a wide range of tasks—from payroll and reconciliations to external filings and client advisory.

How you’ll make a difference

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Managing the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable
• Preparing invoices, billings, and tour reconciliations
• Handling payroll calculations and government remittances
• Preparing external filings (GST/HST, T4s, T5s, etc.)
• Conducting bank and credit card reconciliations
• Supporting clients with everyday financial questions and planning
• Learning the nuances of business management accounting — where no task is too small, and every detail matters

With high-volume, quick-turnaround work, this team thrives on multitasking, clear communication, and a great sense of humor.

Who you are

You have 1–3 years of accounting experience and are ready to take ownership of full-cycle bookkeeping and financial processes

You enjoy variety and want exposure to all areas of accounting—billing, payroll, reconciliations, external filings, and client support

You’re detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with a strong problem-solving mindset

You thrive in a collaborative, client‑focused environment and enjoy building relationships

You’re working toward your CPA designation or exploring the path and want real‑world experience in business management accounting
