Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team in Nashville, TN. This onsite role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, and reconciliations—especially someone who has worked in a public company environment and understands the rigor of corporate accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes
• Perform bank and account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and schedules
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as FP&A, AP, and Payroll to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public company or corporate environment
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SOX compliance
• CPA or CPA eligibility (a plus but not required)
• Familiarity with large-volume transactions or multi-entity accounting
