The Staff Accountant is responsible for all aspects of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and GL Accounting functions. The role is ideal for a team player with an accounting degree, strong technical accounting skills, and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Perform Month End Close activities including reconciliations, journal entries, PP&E schedules, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
2. Manage Accounts Receivable tasks such as job setup, job completion, customer credit checks, collections, and reporting.
3. Support Accounts Payable functions including purchase orders, vendor invoicing, weekly check runs, credit card transactions, and expense tracking.
4. Maintain accurate records for customers, vendors, subcontractors, and haulers.
5. Assist with time-keeping and Job Costing Reports, including WIP reports, Daily Tonnage Updates, and job-specific reporting.
6. Prepare and submit tax forms and payments for all applicable taxes.
7. Manage Cash Flow reports and projections, monitor positive pay and collections.
8. Assist with budgeting and variance analysis.
9. Suggest process improvements and participate in training to enhance skills.
10. Collaborate with the team to streamline reporting processes.

Skills Needed:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or 4+ years of technical accounting experience.
• Construction industry experience is preferred but not required.
• QuickBooks experience is preferred but not required.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Team-oriented, eager to learn, and adaptable to new software and systems.
• Ability to independently manage work and motivate others to meet deadlines.
• Confidentiality, trustworthiness, and a positive attitude.
