Job summary

Buildots is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations for our US and Canadian entities. You will drive accurate records, process improvements, and support scalable growth across a dynamic, global finance function.

This role can be based in Chicago, Toronto or Austin, working with our team in Israel to ensure timely close, accurate reporting, and robust intercompany reconciliations as the company scales.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in a Hi-Tech or multinational company.
  • Experience with foreign entities and multi-entity bookkeeping/accounting.
  • Experience with US and/or Canadian GAAP.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Receivable — Issue invoices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and update customer project billing status and ensure timely collections.
  • Process vendor invoices and manage Accounts Payable via Dokka and Mesh.
  • Daily bank and credit card reconciliation.
  • Process employee expense reports via Expensify.
  • Ongoing reconciliation of employee accounts, covering expense reimbursements and leave adjustments (parental leave, unpaid leave).
  • Support full monthly end close processes (accrued expenses, Prepaid, fixed assets).
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist with annual audit processes and external reporting.
  • Prepare ad-hoc working papers and financial analysis.
  • Contribute to improving and scaling our financial processes as the company grows.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will manage the day to day financial operations of our US and Canadian entities. You will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, driving process improvements and supporting our continued growth and scalability. Requirements
  • Certified Bookkeeper (AIPB or equivalent) - advantage
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in a Hi-Tech or multinational company - required
  • Experience with foreign entities and multi-entity bookkeeping/accounting - required
  • Experience with US and/or Canadian GAAP - advantage
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with NetSuite - advantage
  • Experience with Mesh and Expensify - advantage
  • Team player, service-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$110,000. In addition, we also offer an equity package in the form of stock-option grants.
