THE ROLE

As the Staff Accountant, you will oversee and manage the full-cycle AP and AR processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and compliance with company policies. You will work closely with the Controller and accounting team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the entire AP and AR processes, including reconciliation, invoicing, payment processing, and collections. Ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial packages, reports, and forecasts, analyzing financial data to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure accurate reporting of project costs and profitability, contributing to the decision-making process.
  • Support cash flow forecasting, provide weekly AR and AP forecasts, and assist with weekly collection estimates.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies, working to implement process improvements and safeguard financial integrity.
  • Take an active role in collections efforts, maintain detailed records of customer interactions, and work closely with the team to resolve any overdue accounts.
  • Oversee month-end AP and AR reconciliations, ensuring that all financial data is accurately recorded and prepared for reporting. Assist with the overall month-end close process.
  • Communicate regularly with the Controller, project managers, and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and address any financial issues that arise.
  • Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 4-6+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on full-cycle AP and AR processes. Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate/advanced level with experience in VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
