  • Issue Resolution: Early identification and resolution to both complex and routine tax, accounting, and other issues considering risk and key areas of focus.
  • Team Initiative: Regular engagement with all levels of the team for feedback, communications, and meetings, as needed, including mentoring and coaching junior staff to assist with their technical and client service development and professional growth.
  • Client and Team Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships, ensuring high-quality prompt service delivery and ability to provide advisory services and respond to client and team enquiries to add value.

What you bring to the table

  • CPA Designation: 2+ years of post-CPA experience, with at least one year of recent public practice experience; additional time in public practice is a strong asset.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate and personal taxation compliance and reporting, with working knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE).
  • Software Proficiency: Solid computer skills, including a knowledge of Microsoft 365, Caseware, TaxPrep, QBO, Xero and more.
  • Leadership Skills: Effective and constructive verbal and written communication, integrity and respect for colleagues to foster resilience and success of team; ideally experienced in coaching and supervising junior team members.
  • Client Focus: A dedication to client service, established professional judgement and analytical thinking to provide innovative solutions to client needs and issues.
  • Professional Commitment: A passion for the Bow Valley and the industry with a solid work ethic and desire to be part of the long-term growth of our firm.
  • Additional Key Skills: Strong organizational and time management for managing multiple priorities, attention to detail, independent and self-motivated, ethical approach and standards to performance, and dedication and willingness to learn from and work with others are essential to thrive in this role

What’s in it for you?

  • Start Date: Flexible start dates in 2025.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health care, life and disability insurance, an employee assistance program, and a health and wellness trust fund.
  • Flexibility & Balance: Build your own schedule with adjustable core hours, no mandatory overtime, and hybrid work options — all within a positive, collaborative, and informal team environment.
  • Career Development: We’re committed to your growth, offering extensive support for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), specialty designations, in-house training, and informal learning. For the right candidate, there’s a clear path to Senior Manager or Partnership.
