SR Terminal Manager

Job summary

Central Transport, a leading LTL carrier with a nationwide network serving the US, Canada, and Mexico, is expanding its Montreal terminal leadership team. The ideal candidate will oversee dock operations, recruit and mentor staff, and drive KPI performance while maintaining OSHA/DOT safety standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, multi-tasking, and a customer-focused approach, with a willingness to work 50 hours per week and a preference for a Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Prior LTL management experience strongly preferred.
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal. This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility KPI goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase.
