e-STORAGE in Ontario seeks a Sr. Service Technician to commission and maintain the SolBank Storage Power Block, supporting LTSA projects for BESS. You will travel to project sites, supervise subcontractors, perform on-site diagnostics, and ensure safety procedures.

Ideal candidates have an Electrical Engineering background with 5+ years in service, strong communication, and a strong ownership mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or related discipline.
• 5+ years in service environment, renewable energy preferred.
• Knowledge of general/national codes, MV power systems and PV or energy storage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to travel regionally (over 50% of the time).
• CMMS experience preferred.
• Strong ownership and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Commission SolBank Storage Power Block and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Wondering what your day-to-day could look like as our new Sr. Service Technician? In this role, you’ll play an integral part of the service team, primarily responsible for commissioning and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB). This role also involves fulfilling obligations under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA’s) for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The successful candidate must be willing to travel and perform tasks at various project sites throughout Ontario. Experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a service environment is required.
• Commission CSI Energy Storage’s SolBank Storage Power Block
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of SPBs to adhere to warranty requirements
• Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment and meet availability and capacity guarantees
• Oversee and supervise sub-contractors on site when required
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes
• Perform proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures as needed
• Analyze performance data determining root cause and performance trends

Requirements

• Educational background in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• At least 5 years' of relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy
• Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and photovoltaic or Energy Storage system applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality
• Previous experience with a CMMS software program is preferred
• Ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)
