Job summary

e-STORAGE, a proud member of the Canadian Solar family, is seeking a Service Technician to commission and maintain SolBank Storage Power Block units across Ontario. This role requires travel to project sites and a passion for reliability and safety.

You will work with the service team to ensure uptime, support LTSA commitments, and provide hands-on diagnostics and problem solving in a fast-paced, growing energy storage business.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 2 years' relevant service experience, preferably in renewable energy.
• Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and PV or energy storage applications.

Responsibilities

• Commission CSI Energy Storage’s SolBank Storage Power Block.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of SPBs to meet warranty requirements.
• Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment and meet availability and capacity guarantees.
• Oversee and supervise subcontractors on site when required.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes.
• Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures as needed.
• Analyze performance data to determine root cause and trends.

Position Title: Service Technician

Department: Service Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 + annual bonus Reports To: Regional Service Manager Location: Oxford, Ontario (Onsite)

About the Role

Wondering what your day-to-day could look like as our new Service Technician? In this role, you’ll play an integral part of the service team, primarily responsible for commissioning and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB). This role also involves fulfilling obligations under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA’s) for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The successful candidate must be willing to travel and perform tasks at various project sites throughout Ontario. Experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a service environment is required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Educational background in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• At least 2 years' of relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy
• Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and photovoltaic or Energy Storage system applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality
• Previous experience with a CMMS software program is preferred
• Ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)
