This position will report to the Chief Metallurgical Engineer and is located in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan.

Pay Band: K, L, or M. The title and salary offered will be based on experience and education.

What You Will Do

1. Maintain and configure the Surface/Mill Foxboro DCS and associated equipment.
2. Maintain and configure the Surface/Mill Rockwell PLCs and associated equipment.
3. Integrate instrumentation, smart starters, VFDs, etc., with the DCS & PLC systems.
4. Maintain the automation work backlog and prioritize according to operations needs.
5. Assist electrical and instrumentation personnel with maintenance and commissioning.
6. Support day-to-day operations and assist with troubleshooting issues.
7. Maintain the surface Historian.
8. Work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to provide technical expertise for various projects related to electrical, instrumentation, and programming requirements, including design, drafting/drawing updates, cost analysis, and automation control strategies.
9. Collaborate with internal subject matter experts in implementing and maintaining network infrastructure upgrades to industry IT/OT standards.
10. Collaborate with process engineering to optimize process performance and automation.
11. Coordinate and work with service provider personnel, vendors, and contractors, ensuring compliance with all site and industry standards.

What You Will Bring

• Education: Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree with eligibility to register with APEGS Saskatchewan OR Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma with eligibility for registration with SASTT.
• Ability to perform all tasks with safety as a priority.
• Ability to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Previous experience in automation, system integration, or maintenance of control systems, especially with PLCs and DCS equipment.
• Effective communication skills with various departments and individuals (internal and external).
