This position will report to the Chief Metallurgical Engineer.

This position is located in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan.

Pay Band: K,L,or M. The title and salary offered will be based on experience and education.

What you will do:

1. Maintain and configure the Surface/Mill Foxboro DCS and associated equipment
2. Maintain and configure the Surface/Mill Rockwell PLCs and associated equipment
3. Integrate instrumentation, smart starters, VFDs, etc. with the DCS & PLC systems
4. Maintain the automation work backlog and prioritize according to Operations needs
5. Assist Electrical and Instrumentation personnel with maintenance and commissioning
6. Support day-to-day operations and assist with troubleshooting issues
7. Maintain the surface Historian
8. Work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to provide technical expertise for various projects on surface as it pertains to electrical, instrumentation, and programming requirements including, but not limited to design, drafting/drawing updates, cost analysis, automation control strategies
9. Collaborate with internal subject matter experts in implementing & maintaining network infrastructure upgrades to industry IT/OT standards
10. Collaborate with Process Engineering to optimize process performance and automation
11. Coordinate and work with service provider personnel, vendors, and contractors and ensure they are compliant with all Site and Industry standards

What you will bring:

1. Education: Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree and eligibility to register with APEGS Saskatchewan OR
2. Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma and eligibility for registration with SASTT
3. Ability to perform all tasks keeping safety paramount
4. Ability to identify and mitigate workplace hazards
5. Previous experience in Automation, System Integration, or maintenance of control systems with direct relatable experience with PLC’s and DCS equipment
6. Ability to communicate effectively with various departments and individuals (internal and external)
7. Proven history of demonstrating "Respect in the Workplace" values
8. Effective troubleshooting skills - analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving
9. Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation technical schematics
10. Engineering, maintenance, project, or operations experience at an operating facility or heavy industrial site
11. Experience with PLCs, DCSs, and/or VFDs or Smart starters
