What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Performance Test Analyst, IT Quality Assurance is responsible for developing and executing test scenarios and scripts for Production Acceptance testing across multiple platforms, in compliance with established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. The role utilizes a solid understanding of the Performance Testing lifecycle to define and document criteria for testing and present results following the defined testing methodology. The Senior Performance Test Analyst troubleshoots problems and provides technical training to less experienced employees, maintaining test system configurations and executing test scripts using test tools for compliance with testing standards. The role uses judgment and autonomy on day-to-day tasks, exercising considerable latitude in analyzing and resolving complex problems during test execution, or escalating issues and concerns. The role proactively addresses problems within the scope of responsibility and identifies areas for improvements.

How you'll succeed

  • Testing Expertise – Good understanding of Performance testing and its lifecycle as well as the fundamentals and concepts such as workload models, pacing, correlation, think time, etc. Ability to speak the language of performance testing.
  • Execute Testing Activities - Analyze, define, and translate business and non-functional requirements, use cases, designs, and specifications into testing requirements. Manage and coordinate performance testing activities for small and large projects across many teams with both onsite and offshore resources. Ability to troubleshoot or raise/log performance defects.
  • Relationship Building - Respond to client's inquiries and requests, providing professional high-quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure client satisfaction. You will liaise and interact with clients as part of the daily management of your portfolio technology to support objectives or address issues, demonstrating good written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaboration - Work with test leads, business, business analysts, and development teams to establish test plans, standards, and procedures that add value to software projects and satisfy the constraints of the project by reviewing project documentation.
  • Monitor & Reporting - Monitor project adherence to quality standards and track/provide progress testing status reporting as needed. Adhere to CIBC’s processes through all phases of the software development life cycle—ensure test activities are compliant to test standards. Recognize, anticipate, and resolve testing activities challenges during the testing life cycle.
  • Tech savvy - Experience using Application Performance Monitoring [APM] tools and executing different test types, developing scripts, analyzing results, and creating HTML reports. Experience using Micro Focus ALM, LoadRunner, Performance Center, LoadRunner Enterprise, or equivalent tools, as well as Microsoft Office.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in Software Testing Life Cycle—Agile or Waterfall methodologies, QA approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems. It is an asset if you have programmed in Java or Python and if you have built simulators or have knowledge of Parasoft Visualize.
  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.
