About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team as a key member of the IT Development function. In this role, you’ll lead the development of individual projects and applications bringing deep expertise in specific technologies while staying informed on emerging tools that could benefit our domain.
You’ll collaborate closely with fellow Software Engineers to troubleshoot technical challenges, and build strong partnerships with Architects, the Strategic Planning & Transformation team, and business leads across OCS to understand project designs and deliver on all technical requirements. You’ll execute development plans in line with solution designs, working with the Business Relationship Managers and Quality Assurance team to ensure defect-free code. Additionally, you’ll support smooth transitions to operational teams in coordination with QA and DevOps, while serving as Level 3 support for completed development work.
About Your Day
- Provides input from a systems and integration perspective across Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions
- Develops and provides effort estimates for design and development activities across their area of expertise
- Refactor and migrate legacy code and systems to new cutting-edge technologies
- Practiced ability to influence strategy within the application domain and related domain
- Designs and develops components and customizations in Microsoft D365 F&O using X++, C#, and .NET
- Configure and maintain dual-write mappings and filters between D365 and Dataverse
- Build Power Platform solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
- Translate functional requirements and wireframes into working secure, and maintainable solutions
- Deploy established development tools, guidelines, and conventions and advocate solutions for the application/solution
- Develops real time and batch interface programs and scalable and high-performance interfaces
- Develops small/midsize applications where there is no commercially available solution
- Writes programs to extract, translate, load, and verify data using an enterprise messaging layer (i.e. Kafka)
- Develops programs to address requirements for data conversions and other data transformations
- Participates in system and application upgrades and other support activities as needed
- Assists users in solving programs and answers systems and application-related questions
- Adheres to programming standards when performing analysis, writing documentation, and testing components
- Develop code utilizing modern development practices such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and agile methodologies
- Participate in Secure Code reviews
- Develop Unit test cases and validates test results during testing
- Participate in triage meetings involving all the required stakeholders, to discuss actions on any defects and issues the testing team has found during testing
- Investigate, resolve and escalate problems and develop recommendations for resolution.
- Identifies need for technical assistance to help in problem resolution
- Escalates issues as appropriate
About You
- Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or related areas OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Significant experience in Systems Integration and Application Development (preferably within the Retail or B2B Systems industry)
- 6+ years of experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Dynamics AX/365 (Finance & Operations, CRM, or Supply Chain).
- 3+ years of experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
- Proficient in X++, C#, .NET, and RESTful API development
- Skilled in file-based data exchange (CSV, XML, JSON, Excel) and ETL processes
- Hands-on experience with Azure services: Logic Apps, Functions, Storage, Data Factory, Synapse, and Data Lakehouse
- Experience with dual-write configuration, data entities, and D365 integrations, Microsoft Dataverse APIs, OData, and custom connector development
- Strong understanding of RBAC, data governance, and compliance (PII handling)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX/365, data models, and operational processes
- Strong knowledge of data model of main platform documents within Microsoft Dynamics AX/365
- Strong working proficiency in cloud- based services (Azure / AWS / GCP) environment
- Resolve production incidents with SME level of knowledge
- Comfortable to use Jira, Confluence, Zeplin and InVision tools in day-to-day activities
- Retail or Supply Chain knowledge is an asset
- Microsoft certifications (preferred):
- Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate
- Power Platform + Dynamics 365 Developer Associate

- This position currently offers a fully remote work schedule. (The in-office requirement is depending on business needs. The OCS office is located near York Mills and Yonge St. However, OCS reserves the right to change this policy and its office location at any time.)

Compensation
The target hiring range for this position is $110,000- $120,000. This is a pay grade 7 role, with a salary range of $81,805.90 - $122,284.74 . Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
