Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Developing and innovating new industrial strapping machines and material handling equipment both independently and in a team environment.
• Designing hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
• Selecting mechanical components such as actuators, motors, fasteners, bearings, etc., for new machine builds.
• Designing mechanical component sub-assemblies and assemblies for manufacturing.
• Creating assemblies, designs, BOMs, etc., using SolidWorks and / or AutoCAD.
• Supporting sales with technical expertise.
• Reviewing mechanical drawings for completeness and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Partnering with lead engineers, manufacturing engineers, and fabrication teams to refine designs for manufacturability.
• Training junior team members in 3D SolidWorks modeling, 2D AutoCAD drafting, and design standards compliance.

Required skills :

• 8+ years of recent experience in mechanical engineering / design of material handling and automation equipment.
• 8+ years of recent experience using SolidWorks.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in custom fabrication / manufacturing.
• College or university degree in mechanical engineering.
• Proficient in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (SolidWorks) design.
• Mechanical inclination.
