Job summary

BC Hydro in Burnaby (Edmonds 13) is hiring a Sr Manager, Digital Innovation (AI) to lead the execution and evolution of the digital innovation strategy and roadmap, and to identify emerging AI tools that create new business value.

The role oversees the M365 platform, ensures security and architectural alignment, manages staff and budgets, and collaborates with business leaders to co-create digital solutions. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an MBA/Master’s asset.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in technology, digital, or AI leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of AI, machine learning, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience managing AI solutions as products, including lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of data management, quality, and governance for reliable AI deployment.
  • Knowledge of ethical AI practices in regulated environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, CS, engineering, or related field.

Job Requirements
  • The candidate must have 7+ years of experience in technology, digital, or AI leadership roles, with proven experience implementing digital innovation initiatives.
  • The candidate must have strong knowledge of AI, machine learning, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), automation, and emerging digital technologies.
  • The candidate must have experience managing AI solutions as products, including lifecycle management from ideation through sustainment, continuous improvement, and value optimization.
  • The candidate must have an understanding of data management, quality, and governance practices to support reliable and responsible AI deployment.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of ethical AI practices, including fairness, transparency, and responsible use of AI in regulated environments.
  • The candidate must have the ability to anticipate trends, assess business value, make data-driven decisions, and balance short-term results with long-term strategy.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage complex projects, prioritize initiatives, and deliver measurable outcomes on time and within budget.
  • The candidate must have experience managing budgets, forecasting costs, tracking value realization, and making investment recommendations for digital initiatives.
  • The candidate must have strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence business leaders, technical teams, and external partners.
  • The candidate must have a track record of building high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams and demonstrate skills in coaching, mentoring, and fostering innovation.
  • The candidate must have an exceptional ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, business-friendly language.
  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • The candidate with an advanced degree (Master's or MBA) will be considered an asset.
  • The candidate must be adaptable, resilient, and curious, with a passion for continuous learning and staying ahead in emerging AI and digital trends.
