What You'll Be Doing

As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Manager, Application Development for CIBC Core banking and Payments, is a professional responsible for managing multiple development projects, development groups and production support functions for a major line of business. The role applies professional knowledge to oversee the development, testing and implementation of organization-wide systems, directing, motivating and developing staff to maximize their individual contribution and function effectively as a team. The Senior Manager, Application Development leads a team to manage resource requirements and allocations, monitor and improve quality, and ensure 'best practice' development techniques. Additionally, the role works with the business in the development, testing and implementation of application programs that help promote business improvement.

How You'll Succeed

• Understanding Requirements – Track and analyze operating environment for specified services and implement corrective actions as needed. Work with clients and internal partners to determine, negotiate, and manage services to the agreed standards. Monitor service levels to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Design and Development: Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.
• People Leadership – Lead and coach a high performing group team of individuals. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their contributions and professional growth. Share knowledge and collaborate to come up with effective solutions to problems.
• Relationship Management – Work closely with clients and business partners to develop, test, and implement application program. Impact and improve the business by advising application owners on the technology possibilities and requirements.
  
  

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate experience with 8 plus years of experience leading Java, Spring Boot and Angular. 5-8 years’ experience in leading a team of developers and are a seasoned professional with the ability lead in Agile framework. You are a code quality champion with hands-on experience in Software Design using SOLID Design principles. It’s an Asset if: You have good experience of Devops, Client Data Management solutions. Ideally, you understand patterns of designing applications for cloud, Azure preferred. Any certification in cloud or Java.
• You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science and related fields.
