Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to design, implement, and optimize Atlassian platform solutions (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management) for a large enterprise. You will lead architecture, configuration, governance, and drive enterprise adoption while mentoring teams.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience with Jira/Atlassian suites, strong API integration skills, and a focus on platform governance and incident management in cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience as an Application Engineer focusing on Jira/Atlassian ecosystem.
• Experience leading Jira/Confluence configuration and governance.
• Strong API integrations and Atlassian Cloud administration experience.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive incident resolution and improvements.

Responsibilities

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to support a leading enterprise client by driving the design, implementation, and optimization of complex Atlassian platform solutions across multiple business functions. This individual will lead the architecture, configuration, and governance of Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and related integrations, ensuring scalable and high-performing solutions that align with business objectives. The role will establish engineering standards, development patterns, and platform best practices while partnering with stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps and drive enterprise adoption. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with Atlassian Cloud administration, workflow automation, API integrations, and platform governance within large-scale environments. This person will also mentor engineering teams, lead critical incident resolution efforts, and champion continuous improvement initiatives across the application ecosystem

Skills and Requirements

• 6+ years experience as an Application Engineer within Jira, Atlassian and confluence
• Manage and prioritize the operational backlog
• Lead complex configuration and administration decisions in Jira
• Guide workflows, schemas, fields, permissions, and automation
• Enforce Jira standards across cross functional teams
• Assess the impact of requested changes before implementation
• Lead API inventory, cleanup, and governance
• Support IAM and least-privilege implementation
• Partner with Cybersecurity, IAM, Architecture, Enablement, and Delivery teams
• Support the Atlassian license renewal and vendor discussions
• Coach and guide the current system administrators
• Reduce key-person and operational dependency risks
