Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Canada is seeking a Senior Java/J2EE engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade applications. You will build REST APIs and gRPC services, design microservices, and work with architects to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

You will develop and optimize SQL queries for high-volume systems, implement secure coding practices, and collaborate with cloud teams on Azure, AWS, and GCP deployments.

Qualifications

Role Description

• Lead design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade JavaJ2EE applications. Build and maintain high-performance REST APIs and gRPC services for scalable systems.
• Design and implement microservices-based architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and integrate services using REST, JSON, SOAPWSDL, and XML protocols. Implement APIs using frameworks such as Spring Boot, light4j, and gRPC.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support high-volume transactional systems.
• Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, and reliability benchmarks.
• Apply and enforce secure coding practices to meet enterprise security standards.
• Participate in and lead code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
• Design and implement caching strategies (e.g., Redis, Memcached) for performance optimization.
• Work with cloud teams to deploy and manage applications on Azure AWS GCP platforms.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions for large-scale, distributed environments.
• Mentor junior developers and drive best practices in development and design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product) to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Required Skill Set
