If you’re driven, detail-oriented, and looking to build a long-term career in a fast-paced industrial environment, this is a compelling opportunity to make an impact and grow alongside top industry professionals.Position OverviewReporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Senior HR Business Partner will serve as the HR lead for key operational business units while managing a team of three HR Business Partners/Generalists. This role is critical in shaping and executing workforce strategies aligned with operational goals, while driving HR excellence across multiple sites in Ontario and the US.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Partnership- Lead HR strategy and daily operations for assigned business units; address complex employee issues escalated from direct reports.
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to align HR initiatives with business priorities.
- Advise on workforce planning, employee and labour relations, talent management, and compliance.
- Conduct and oversee workplace investigations and resolve sensitive employee relations matters.
- Coach frontline leaders on performance management, coaching, and progressive discipline.
- Oversee union contract administration, grievance resolution, and foster constructive labour relations.
HR Program Leadership- Lead special projects and HR initiatives across industrial and construction sites.
- Design and deploy engagement strategies tailored to plant and field workforces.
- Standardize HR policy application across locations.
- Partner with specialized HR teams to deliver cohesive and effective solutions.
- Develop and implement communications strategies for a diverse workforce.
- Monitor and assess program effectiveness, driving continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & Development- Mentor and guide a team of 3 HR professionals, establishing clear escalation and support protocols.
- Provide expert-level support on complex issues and strategic workforce initiatives.
Cross-Functional Responsibilities- Support payroll and benefits continuity when needed.
- Participate in recruitment for critical positions.
- Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional projects and company-wide initiatives.
- Complete various administrative and strategic tasks as required.
QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or related field.
- 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity within industrial, manufacturing, or construction sectors.
- CHRL designation required.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation in Ontario and the US (particularly in industrial environments).
- Payroll knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with Dayforce is a significant asset.
- Experienced in the Union environment preferred.
