Our client, an established employer in Canada is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to join their team.

This is a permanent job, hybrid in GTA with some travel to client locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead environmental assessment, impact assessment, and permitting processes for projects in sectors such as mining, infrastructure, industrial, and community development.
• Prepare and coordinate proposals and reports tailored to specific project needs.
• Conduct desktop studies to support regulatory requirements for various developments.
• Develop and implement stakeholder consultation programs.
• Engage with internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and the public to ensure effective communication.
• Collaborate with professionals across Canada to support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance.
• Strengthen client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Participate in key client meetings and professional/industry organizations to promote expertise in environmental planning.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental project development and management, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
• Experience with environmental impact assessments, including Federal IA, Class EA, TPAP, and/or energy regulator processes.
• Training in environmental assessment programs.
• Professional memberships such as Ontario Professional Planners Institute, OAIA, or ECO Canada EP designation.
• Consulting experience in environmental impact assessments.
