Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager for a full-time role in Alberta, Canada. This position supports infrastructure projects across various stages, from early development to post-construction. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years in the natural resources sector, strong communication skills, and a degree in environmental science or a related field. A hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

  • Preferably experience in a consulting environment.
  • Experience with Renewable Energy Projects and Transmission and Distribution Projects is ideal.

Your impact

Jacobs is hiring Environmental Project Managers to join our dynamic team in a full-time role based out of our Burnaby, Calgary, Edmonton, or Victoria offices. In this position you will support government- and privately-owned infrastructure projects in all life stages of the projects, from the early development stages all the way to post-construction environmental monitoring and operations. You will provide leadership and guidance to our environmental planning and permitting teams. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment while working on critical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include
  • Working with our strong technical team, you will be responsible for meeting internal and external client objectives and project-specific internal financial goals.
  • Budget preparation and tracking, scheduling, task management, and delivery on environmental projects within western Canada.
  • Providing motivation and direction to project teams, interacting with clients, and providing mentoring opportunities to help the team thrive.
  • Developing project strategy in conjunction with senior technical staff, effectively communicating it to clients, and driving the strategy with project teams.
  • Expanding our client portfolio in a collaborative manner, including support for Business Development and proposal efforts.
  • Be a Safety Leader for your projects and promote Jacobs Beyond Zero and our Culture of Caring.
Here’s what you’ll need
  • Minimum 10 years of Project Management experience in the natural resources sector in western Canada, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology/ecology, geology, or other closely related technical degree.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High level of initiative, problem-solving, and adaptability.
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation
  • Experience with Renewable Energy Projects, and Transmission and Distribution Projects
Salary Range

Minimum: $114,400.00
Upper: $178,750.00

The base salary range for this position is $114,400.00 to $178,750.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
