The Sr. Director, Professional Services will manage a team of Delivery Directors, Engagement Managers, Consulting Managers, and Consultants for the Canada region. The role will collaborate with other teams in the services organization to secure the best experience for our customers. They will work with consulting managers and resource managers to assemble project teams. They will help resolve resource and deployment challenges to successfully deliver Workday projects. The role will also collaborate with the sales team to gain new business with prospects and existing customers. The role will be measured on project portfolio health, customer satisfaction, revenue / margin goals, and team development.
The ideal candidate will be a leader with a deep understanding of enterprise software implementation methodologies, a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams, and a strong commitment to customer success. This role requires significant experience operating within the Canadian business landscape and a solid grasp of its unique market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership & Growth:
Develop and execute the Professional Services strategy for Canada, aligning with global PS and company objectives.
Drive revenue growth and profitability for the Canadian Professional Services organization.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborating closely with sales and pre-sales teams.
Contribute to the development and refinement of service offerings and pricing strategies.
Delivery Excellence & Customer Success:
Oversee the end-to-end delivery of all professional services engagements in Canada, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Implement and enforce best practices for project management, solution architecture, and consulting services.
Champion customer satisfaction and build strong, lasting relationships with key clients.
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring successful outcomes for customers.
Act as an executive escalation point for customer issues and concerns, resolving them effectively and professionally.
Team Leadership & Development:
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of professional services consultants and project managers across Canada.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and accountability.
Provide strong leadership, guidance, and support to ensure team members achieve their full potential.
Manage resource allocation and utilization to optimize team efficiency and effectiveness.
Operational Excellence:
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Professional Services organization in Canada.
Implement and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
Manage the P&L for the Canadian Professional Services organization, including forecasting, budgeting, and expense management.
Market & Industry Expertise:
Maintain a deep understanding of the Canadian market, including industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements.
Represent Workday at industry events, conferences, and customer forums.
About You
Basic Qualifications
8+ years’ experience in software consulting services
Experience leading Enterprise software deployments
Experience leading a professional services P&L
Other Qualifications
Knowledge of multiple areas related to business software deployments, i.e. Human Resources, Financials, Procurement, Analytics and/or Planning
Experience as Executive Sponsor on customer-facing consulting projects
Strong presentation skills
Ability to lead an organization toward achieving team and individual objectives
Ability to work in diverse, fast-paced environment and efficiently collaborate across teams
Experience owning the strategic direction of a Professional Services organization via identifying and leading internal initiatives
Ability to accurately estimate effort and resources required to complete software implementation projects
Ability to travel up to 50% as within Canada and occasionally to the US
Fluency in French and English preferred

T he annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
