Job Description

ECS is seeking a NIH/NIAID Director (Professional Services & IT) to work remotely.

The NIH Director is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the successful execution of client projects and driving business development across multiple Institutes and Centers (ICs) within the NIH, with a focus on NIAID. This position requires a candidate with recent, deep knowledge of NIH's enterprise and IC-specific ecosystems, including the IT landscape, research programs, key stakeholders, leading vendors, and modernization initiatives. The role involves managing client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and fostering partnerships.

Responsibilities
NIH, NIAID and IT Expertise
  • Domain Expertise in NIH: Experience working within NIH and across its ICs.
  • Knowledge of NIAID: Deep understanding of NIAID's mission, research priorities, and IT needs related to infectious disease research.
  • IT Delivery Expertise: Skills in app development, enterprise software engineering, cloud computing, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, AI/ML, and customer support.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of regulatory requirements for IT solutions within NIAID.
Business Development
  • Market Analysis: Conduct research to identify trends and opportunities in NIH/NIAID research and IT landscape.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with NIH and NIAID stakeholders.
  • Proposal Development: Create proposals and presentations to secure new business.
  • Pipeline Management: Track and develop a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Client Acquisition: Engage potential clients, articulating the value of IT solutions.
Client Project Oversight
  • Team Leadership: Manage cross-functional project teams for high-quality delivery.
  • Business Growth: Use innovations and SME staff to expand business within NIH.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and project lifecycle requirements.
Qualifications
  • Over 15 years’ experience in NIH/NIAID consulting leadership.
  • Proven success managing complex IT projects and business development within NIH/NIAID.
  • Deep understanding of NIH's and NIAID’s IT and research landscape.
  • Excellent communication skills for relationship building within NIH.

Salary Range: $175,000-$200,000
