The Rogers Information and Cyber Security Unit is seeking a highly motivated Senior Cyber Security Specialist to join our Cyber Protection Center.

This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Cyber Forensics at the Rogers Park Brampton campus and is responsible for enhancing our cyber security program through ongoing review and development of strategies and incident response procedures.

The position is equivalent to a SOC Tier 2 or 3 specialist, focusing on Rogers’ cyber-incident response and forensic functions, including threat intelligence application, automation, and security improvement initiatives.

We are open to hiring in Calgary or the Greater Toronto Area.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Providing first-line response and management of cybersecurity issues, including on-call participation.
2. Assessing security events to determine business risk.
3. Leading and contributing to security projects and meetings.
4. Performing gap assessments, developing automation scripts, and tuning security systems.
5. Leading security incident investigations and producing detailed reports.
6. Participating in threat hunting, monitoring, and digital forensic examinations.
7. Developing and evolving SOC response procedures based on MITRE ATT&CK.

Qualifications:

• Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, incident response, or related roles.
• Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, GREM, and forensic certifications preferred.
• Experience with forensic tools, scripting, and network security.
• Strong understanding of malware, attack vectors, and system internals.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

This is a hybrid role requiring three days in-office at our Brampton or Calgary locations. We conduct pre-employment background checks, including criminal, and possibly credit and driving record checks.
