You will be applying security disciplines across new domains of big data, cloud, wireless, wireline networks, and massive converged edge networks for both TELUS as an Anchor Client and our Managed Security Solutions Practice (MSSP) customers.

As a Security Consultant for the TELUS Next-Gen SIEM team, you will be part of a national team of client-facing security professionals. You will support our Managed SIEM customers by creating SIEM content for improved security visibility, maintaining platform health and log availability for security incident monitoring, supporting data integrity, and engaging SIEM vendors to drive solution enhancements aligned with TELUS and internal strategic goals.

What you’ll do

  • Support lifecycle management and use case development for Google SecOps, MS Sentinel, Elastic.
  • Deploy and configure automation and orchestration technology.
  • Resolve diverse and complex problems, consult on use cases, conduct platform health checks, tuning, and integrate security technologies in customer environments.
  • Present security findings, recommendations, and reports to stakeholders.
  • Analyze information streams, evaluate options, and formulate recommendations.
  • Maintain continuous personal development in security knowledge.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members in a supportive environment.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience with SIEM technologies (SecOps, Sentinel, Splunk).
  • 2+ years of IT security systems administration experience.
  • Experience with managed security services (MSS) environments.
  • Availability for 24x7 on-call rotation.
  • Strong self-motivation and accountability.
  • Security certifications such as SANS GIAC, ISC2 CISSP, CCSP, ITIL, COBIT, or vendor certifications.
  • Ability to obtain Canadian Government Secret Security Clearance.

Great-to-haves

  • Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS.
  • Additional certifications like CISSP or CCSP.
  • Experience with Linux/RedHat.

Salary Range: $82,000-$124,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 12%

Actual total compensation depends on knowledge, skills, performance, and experience. Compensation may change in 2025.
