What you'll be doing

The Senior Consultant is a key member of the Chief Security Office (CSO) Shared Services team. The Senior Consultant will support the strategic planning, process optimization and governance for CSO Shared Services. You will work with the CSO organization to support business partners and stakeholders to produce progress and executive reports on performance and dashboards for Senior Leadership and to ensure the portfolio is well monitored and controlled.

How you'll succeed

  • Governance: Work in accordance with the CIBC model to develop the appropriate level of governance for aligned services. This includes proactively ensuring that the work package deliveries are executed in alignment to required practices to comply with corporate wide policies, use of the appropriate methodology, appropriate use of the deviation process and risk assessments.
  • Process Enablement: Support the ongoing optimization of processes to identify improvements, risks and find ways to mitigate them. Develop and implement metrics to monitor and report on progress.
  • Collaboration: Work jointly with partners to make informed decisions about the progress, development of programs, products, and services. Coach and mentor teams working towards a common goal. Negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
  • Change Management: Provide support to ensure the awareness and adoption of services across CSO. Help to justify measurable benefits vs impacts for stakeholders, ensure changes are implemented to maximize adoption success and sustainability, illustrated through regular reporting. You will provide Change Management support in alignment with CIBC policies to the requisite stakeholders and governing bodies. You will drive awareness based on Industry, Regulatory and CIBC Policies and guidelines to manage risk including those associated with potential delays and deferrals
  • Strategic Alignment: Apply your expertise to ensure alignment with the strategy, business objectives and desired outcome. Provide end-to-end support with highly complex work packages including planning, execution, closing and realization of objectives. Build strong and effective relationships to assess ongoing operations and identify opportunities for improvements

Who you are

  • You have over 5 years of experience in the field of Compliance, Risk Management or Governance, through work experience and professional training.You have exposure to governance and risk management, and understand the association with project/program delivery. You have experience with stakeholder engagement complexities and successfully operating in matrixed environments. It’s an asset if this includes includes industry-related certifications
