Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Sr. Consultant, Full Stack Developer in Toronto.

You will lead design, development and governance of GAM data platforms on Azure, including Synapse and Databricks, collaborating with partners to deliver scalable, secure solutions. You will mentor a team, perform architecture reviews, and translate business requirements into technical designs while driving a modern, cloud-first data strategy.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in enterprise data engineering with Azure delivery and expert Synapse, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Medallion architecture.
  • Hands-on design and governance of scalable data platforms using Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, Spark SQL.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory to orchestrate data loading and transformation; Python; CI/CD; observability; cloud security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform data systems.
  • Perform code reviews and hands-on development as SME for GAM data warehouse on Azure.
  • Coordinate complex solution design aligning with technology roadmap and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor a high-performing team and manage client/partner relationships for delivery.

Impact and improve the business by advising application owners on the technology possibilities and requirements.**Who You Are.*** **You can demonstrate** 8+ years of experience in enterprise data engineering and Azure platform delivery, with expert knowledge and experience in Synapse, Databricks, Unity Catalog, and its Medallion data architecture. You have hands-on experience designing, building, and governing scalable data platforms using Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, and Spark SQL, with a strong focus on secure, high-performing, and well-governed data solutions. You have proven experience translating business requirements into technical design and solutions and working with both technology and business partners to deliver business-aligned capabilities. You also bring strong development experience in Azure Data Factory to orchestrate data loading / transformation, Python, along with solid knowledge of Azure SQL, Azure Functions, API integration, CI/CD, observability, and cloud security.
