Reports to: CIO

We develop, own, and manage commercial, residential, and industrial properties, and collaborate with third-party developers in Ottawa and Kingston.

Work Description

The Senior Application Specialist provides strategic guidance, support, and architecture for enterprise software applications, especially ERP systems. This role requires extensive experience with large-scale software applications, ERP solutions, and software development processes, along with effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical expertise in enterprise applications, including ERP systems and software architecture.
  2. Support and define the architecture for ERP systems and related solutions.
  3. Support business-critical systems through second and third-tier application support.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, AutoDesk.
  5. Ensure best practices in software development, including source control and design processes.
  6. Communicate technical concepts clearly to all audiences.
  7. Monitor application performance, updates, and quality assurance.
  8. Optimize business application configurations for better performance and functionality.
  9. Educate users on new application features.
  10. Contribute to team structure and leadership roles.
  11. Stay informed on AI applications in enterprise software and evaluate relevant solutions.
  12. Participate in software and ERP-related projects.
  13. Research emerging technologies to improve business solutions.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in enterprise software and ERP systems.
  • Strong background in software development and design lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP solutions like SAP, Oracle, or similar.
  • Knowledge of database management and enterprise software solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile and project management methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred), or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of latest AI technologies.
  • Leadership potential, with future management aspirations.
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are assets.
Work Environment
  • Providing service across multiple departments and companies, often under tight deadlines.
  • Overtime may be required.
