Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Senior Analyst, Risk Analytics in Toronto to develop and deliver risk dashboards for the Retail Lending portfolio and provide management with actionable insights. The role involves analyzing credit losses and delinquency from large data sources, with a hybrid work arrangement 1–3 days on-site per week.

You will collaborate with Finance and Risk teams, leveraging SQL, SAS/Databricks, and advanced Excel to ensure accurate reporting and robust data controls while staying connected

What You'll Be Doing

As the Senior Analyst, Risk Analytics you will provide support on developing and producing portfolio risk dashboards and other regular reports to monitor Retail Lending portfolio performance, and provide insights for senior management to make decisions. This position will also be involved in in-depth analysis on credit losses and delinquency based on large amount of data from a variety of data sources to understand risk trend and generate insights.

How You'll Succeed
  • Reporting - You will prioritize work items to make sure reports/analyses are delivered on time. You will use tools such as SAS EG and MS Office to prepare risk dashboards and other reports and perform analyses to monitor portfolio performance and develop insights. You will work closely with Finance and Collection to validate credit loss numbers and
  • understand impact of their operation on portfolio performance.
  • Risk analysis - With good understanding of risk data from TSYS, Capstone and Triad you translate portfolio performance questions to analysis design to derive actionable information from large number of data. You work with Account Management and Acquisition teams to provide portfolio impact analysis of risk strategy changes and optimization.
  • Business acumen and data control - You understand our clients and keep up to date on retail lending products , processes, data sources, and overall Canadian economy to understand the impact on portfolio performance. You will ensure that numbers in dashboards are accurate by maintaining and enhancing data preparation process control and documenting data/process changes. You participate in process design and risk-related projects.
Who You Are
  • You can demonstrate experience in SQL and other programming languages, mathematical or statistical analysis software tools (SAS or Databricks preferred), database management, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. It is an asset if you have undergraduate degree in quantitative areas such as mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, or another applicable discipline.
