Reporting to the Personal Insurance Modelling & Pricing Analytics Manager, your responsibilities include contributing to modeling projects using advanced machine learning techniques, providing innovative solutions, and mentoring junior analysts. This role bridges data science and actuarial ratemaking, working with rating teams to ensure success. Projects involve creating loss cost, demand, and market premium models, improving tools and processes, and analyzing data to enhance our business mix. You will gain exposure to the entire model lifecycle across multiple lines of business, with leadership opportunities, interaction with senior management, and career growth potential.

  • Lead the development and updating of predictive models
  • Develop solutions for current and emerging business challenges
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify process efficiencies in modeling
  • Use database and predictive modeling expertise to inform strategic decisions
  • Handle routine requests related to reports and processes independently
  • Manage project timelines effectively
  • Communicate actuarial concepts and recommendations clearly to management
  • Monitor and evaluate model performance
  • Conduct peer reviews of technical and analytical work
What do you bring to the role?
  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Completion of at least 4 CAS exams
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL; familiarity with Google Cloud is a plus
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms like GLM, GAM, XGBoost
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Innovative mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Salary Range: $76,100 - $146,000
