Tahltan Nation Development LP seeks an experienced Sr. Airfield Equipment & Ramp Operations professional to support Dease Lake Airport.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of airport ramp operations and aircraft ground servicing experience.

• Class 3 with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Experience operating heavy equipment for winter snow and ice control.
• Familiarity with aircraft fueling, de-icing, and runway condition reporting (AMSCR/NOTAM).
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate frontline crews.

Responsibilities

• Operate aerodrome equipment to keep runways, taxiways, and aprons clear in all weather.
• Perform daily runway surface inspections and log hazards.
• Handle aircraft ground duties: marshalling, towing, baggage handling, GPU hookups.
• De-ice/anti-ice and into-plane refueling per safety and environmental standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Airfield Equipment& Ramp Operations professional to join our airport operations team. Thisposition providessenior operational support at Dease Lake Airport, overseeing runwaymaintenance, ramp servicing, aircraft ground support, and daily shiftactivities. The role supports the Airport Manager and Airport Duty Manager,mentors team members, and provides operational coverage when required. You willoperate snow removal and ground equipment, service aircraft, assist with dailyreporting, coordinate shift tasks, and provide operational coverage when themanager is away (excluding formal regulatory certifications).

Responsibilities

• Operate aerodrome equipment, includingplow trucks, blowers, sweepers and sanders, ensuring all runways, taxiways, andaprons are clear and operational in all weather conditions.
• Perform daily inspections of runwaysurfaces, lighting, and perimeter fencing, logging and escalating anyidentified hazards.
• Execute aircraft ground handlingduties, including marshalling, towing, baggage/cargo handling, GPU hookups, andother basic aircraft services.
• Perform aircraft de-icing/anti-icingand into-plane refueling per strict quality, safety, and environmentalstandards.
• Coordinate day-to-day shift tasksacross the ramp crew, ensuring smooth workflow between flight arrivals anddepartures.
• Support airport leadership and assistwith daily operational logs, draft NOTAMs, and runway condition reports(AMSCRs).
• Provide field coverage during absencesby handling daily coordination and escalating urgent operational concerns.
• Maintain clean, organized airsidefacilities, including the equipment shop, terminal areas, and aircraft apron.
• Carry out seasonal airfield groundsmaintenance, including brush clearing, drainage ditching, and wildlifemitigation.
• Assist with passenger check-in anddeliver professional, courteous customer service to airline partners andtravelers.
• Support the mentorship, careerdevelopment, succession planning, and performance management of airport staff.
• Document and provide detailed recordsof airport activities and report on daily, monthly and annual key performanceindicators.
• Lead daily safety tailgates, supportsite inspections, and ensure all legislative, industry and customer standardsare adhered to including Transport Canada, Occupational Health and Safety andsite regulations.
• Provide rotational support forafter-hours winter call-outs, emergency runway response, and medevac flights.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills anddemonstrated ability to coordinate frontline crews under tight turnaroundtimes.
• Ability and willingness to work afly-in, fly-out (FIFO) rotational schedule in northern winter conditions,including cold temperatures, snow, and ice.
• Strong attention to detail andcommitment to safety.

Working Conditions

• Physical ability to stand, climb, andrepetitively lift luggage, cargo, and equipment up to 70 lbs.
• Exposure to high-noise airsideenvironments, live aircraft engine perimeters, and aviation fuel systems.
• Outdoor physical work in remotenorthern conditions, including sub-zero temperatures, snow, ice, and highwinds.
• Rotational FIFO schedule with earlymornings, split shifts, evenings, weekends, and on-call response.
• Fast-paced environment with frequentinterruptions and changing priorities.
• Strict adherence to airport safety andsecurity protocols.
• Mandatory use of personal protectiveequipment (PPE) including hearing protection, high-visibility vests and safety footwear.

Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing

• Coach and guide junior ramp staff andequipment operators on proper operating techniques and safety standards bysharing technical skills, safety practices, and industry knowledge in arespectful and culturally aware manner.
• Foster a respectful, accountable workenvironment that aligns with Tahltan culture and values.
