Job summary

Nature's Path Foods in Richmond, BC, is seeking a seasoned accountant on a six-month contract to partner with the Corporate Controller and manage day-to-day accounting operations.

The role requires CPA designation, 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, PowerQuery expertise, and a strong grounding in full-cycle accounting and month-end close. Training is in-office five days a week, transitioning to four days, with a pro-rated salary and a $5,000 completion bonus.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with intercompany transactions and large datasets using PowerQuery.
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting and month-end close.
• Independent, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• Collaborative relationships across the business.
• Availability to commit to the full six-month contract.

What you’ll do

• Partner with the Corporate Controller to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the business.
• Lead month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting and account analysis.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records while identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives.
• Provide guidance and support to junior members of the Finance team when required.
• Take ownership of priorities, adapt quickly to changing business needs and jump in wherever support is needed during this critical period.

What you’ll bring

• CPA designation (required).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with experience handling intercompany transactions and large datasets using PowerQuery.
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting and month-end close.

Details

• Annualized salary of $85,000 (pro-rated for the six-month contract).
• $5,000 completion bonus upon successfully completing the contract.
• This role will be in office five times a week during training, then transition to a four day a week in office.
