Job summary

Northside Industries in Canada is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting operations and improving processes. Working with the Controller, you will contribute to accurate financial reporting, disciplined month-end close, and cross-entity coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience.
• Experience supporting month-end close processes.
• ERP system experience required.
• Manufacturing experience is a strong asset.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and support month-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and working papers.
• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and supporting schedules.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances.
• Support timely financial reporting across multiple entities.
• Support receivables collections and payables processes.
• Help maintain visibility into cash flow and working capital activities.
• Ensure transactional accuracy and timely processing.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.
• Support accounting process improvements and standardization initiatives.
• Assist with onboarding and integration of new entities.
• Help maintain accounting controls, SOPs, and reporting deadlines.
• Contribute to workflow efficiency and operational consistency.

What You'll Be Doing

Month-End & Accounting Operations

What We're Looking For

• Ability to analyze and explain financial variances
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• CPA designation not required
• Must be local to the Okanagan

Compensation & Benefits

• $60,000 - $69,000 based on experience
