Job summary

Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking an enthusiastic Sprinkler Systems Designer to join our Edmonton, AB team.

The successful candidate will assist in producing drawings on a variety of buildings including commercial, residential, industrial and healthcare facilities. The role involves designing, calculating and stocking sprinkler projects, collaborating with the design team, and ensuring deliverables meet NFPA standards and local codes.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering & Technology, Mechanical Design or equivalent.
• Knowledge of design layout, hydraulic calculations, stock listing and project management would be an asset.
• NICET certification and/or the ability to become certified.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design, calculate and stock list fire sprinkler projects in a construction environment.
• Work with a team of fire protection designers, reporting directly to the design team leader.
• Liaise between management, estimating, design, fabrication, installation, and project management as a valuable team member.
• Assist in continuing and maintaining company best practices in coordination with national fire protection design team.
