Job summary

Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. in Moncton, NB, is seeking an enthusiastic Sprinkler Systems Designer to join our local team. You will design, calculate and compile stock lists for fire sprinkler projects across commercial, residential, industrial, and healthcare facilities.

As part of a team of fire protection designers, you will liaise with management, estimating, fabrication and project management to help ensure accurate deliverables while meeting NFPA standards and local codes.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering & Technology, or Mechanical Design.
• Knowledge of design layout, hydraulic calculations, stock listing and project management would be an asset.
• NICET certification and/or ability to become certified.
• Experience working with AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculations.
• Experience with HydraCAD is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design, calculate and stock list fire sprinkler projects in a construction environment.
• Work with a team of fire protection designers, reporting directly to the design team leader.
• Liaise between management, estimating, design, fabrication, installation, and project management as a valuable team member resulting in increased profitability.
• Assist in continuing and maintaining company best practices in coordination with national fire protection design team.
• Verify that all deliverables meet NFPA standards and local ordinance.
• Other related duties as assigned.
