What you will do

  1. Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  2. Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  3. Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. These include but are not limited to wet steel, copper, CPVC, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  4. Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and medication notices in order to diagnose and repair equipment.
  5. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  6. Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with the district staff and customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  7. Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding and obtain customer’s signature.
  8. Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required

  1. Sprinkler Fitter Red Seal Certified.
  2. Must be either a member of Local 170 or eligible for enrollment in the union as a journeyperson.
  3. BACKFLOW Certification.
  4. 5+ years of experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
  5. Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  6. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  7. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  8. Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  9. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  10. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
  11. Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  12. Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  13. Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  14. Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  15. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  16. Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  17. Able to pass a pre-employment background check.
  18. Hourly rate of $45.16 determined by UA Local 170 CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through the union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
