Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the building and equipment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, reliable, eager to learn, communicates effectively, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills both independently and in team settings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and repair dock plates, doors, shelters, and curtains.
2. Perform general landscaping, plumbing, heating, electrical work, and carpentry.
3. Conduct routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
4. Diagnose and repair equipment issues efficiently.
5. Assist with forklift repairs and possess knowledge of sprinkler systems and HVAC maintenance.
6. Identify safety concerns and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
7. Prepare reports and work orders accurately and promptly.
8. Communicate with vendors as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma (preferred).
• 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience, especially with warehouse equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Ability to understand written policies and follow oral instructions.
• Certified Welder (preferred) with experience in welding repairs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Lift and carry over 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and use tools repetitively.
• Bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders, and work in confined or awkward spaces.
• Operate hand and power tools, handle small parts, and use control panels.
• Work in environments with extreme temperatures, noise, chemicals, dust, fumes, confined spaces, and heights, with PPE as needed.
