Job Description

As a Sprinkler Fitter, you will be a key player in delivering our commitments to customers and partners. Your interactions will reflect CFLS’s dedication to safety, quality, and professionalism. This role demonstrates our confidence in your ability to deliver projects while upholding our mission to protect lives and property. You will also be part of a supportive team that values accountability and support.

This document outlines the roles, responsibilities, and expectations for our Sprinkler Fitter and the installation team.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  1. Perform work safely, following CFLS’s safety procedures and site-specific regulations.
  2. Create and submit weekly progress reports with the construction foreman.
  3. Ensure timely submission of weekly timesheets.
  4. Establish contact with site personnel, obtain approval for lay down areas, and check safety concerns.
  5. Attend job meetings and coordinate with other trades.
  6. Identify scope changes and communicate with the project team.
  7. Control site inventory and track materials.
  8. Maintain a two-week look-ahead plan for materials, tools, and coordination.
  9. Notify relevant parties of system activations and schedule tests with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
  10. Conduct safety talks, review inspections, and maintain logs.
  11. Provide technical support and mentorship to the installation team.
  12. Review installation quality and address deficiencies.

Construction Foreman
  • Technical support, safety, manpower, and conflict resolution.
Project Manager / Coordinator
  • Project scope, drawings, and change communication.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter (Red Seal preferred).
  • Membership in local 254 is an asset.
  • Ability to follow instructions, perform physical labor, and work in challenging positions.
  • Ability to read blueprints and work flexible hours.
  • Adherence to safety guidelines, excellent communication, organization skills, and a valid driver’s license.
