Founded in 1910 and located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Mount Royal University grew into a vibrant college in the 1930s and became a mid-sized university in 2009. Mount Royal has carved out a distinct niche by offering smaller class sizes, a robust liberal education and unique undergraduate programs. Mount Royal University is located in the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut'ina and the Iyarhe Nakoda. We are situated on land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. The traditional Blackfoot name of this place is "Mohkinstsis," which we now call the city of Calgary. MRU Camps focuses on providing an environment where children and youth can grow and thrive to the best of their potential.
MRU Camps is looking for enthusiastic individuals who are interested in sharing their knowledge, passion, and expertise with children and youth in Sports, Recreation, Fitness and Outdoor Leadership. Under the supervision of the Sports & Outdoor Education (SOE) Supervisor, the Instructor is responsible for delivering lessons and leading campers through a variety of activities such as crafts, sports, and games. Additional responsibilities include the completion of required administrative duties and maintaining smooth, cooperative, and professional relations with staff, campers, and parents. Camp Instructors will also work closely with Camp Leaders and Volunteers.
These are casual positions ending August 29, 2025. The hours of work are between 7:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Camp Instructors must be available for all 9 weeks of employment (June 30 - August 29, 2025) and orientation week (June 23-27, 2025).
