Current Rate of Pay: Min $48.48 - Max $60.59

Current Shifts: Primarily days, weekends, evenings & on-call as required
(approx. 15 hours/week)

Position Summary:

The Spiritual Care Lead provides compassionate and holistic care to patients, families and staff at Guelph General Hospital. The Spiritual Care Lead supports the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families, staff requiring support and assistance through direct service including emotional and spiritual support, crisis intervention, pastoral counselling and consultation.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Master of Divinity, Theology, Pastoral Care, or related/equivalent field
  • Certified member of the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (C.A.P.P.E.), Specialist, Associate or Teaching Supervisor, with endorsement by a faith community
  • Chaplaincy experience in a health care setting preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Competence in understanding and dealing with death, dying and grief recovery
  • Evidence of continued professional growth and development
  • Demonstrated initiative and personal maturity
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
