As a Speech-Language Pathologist in Yellowknife, you'll provide assessment and treatment services to pediatric clients with opportunities to provide service to adult outpatients. One morning might find you helping a child communicate more confidently. The afternoon could involve collaborating with physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, educators, and families to improve quality of life for a child with complex needs. You'll manage your own caseload, provide assessments and intervention, travel to smaller northern communities, and build lasting relationships with the people you serve.
Unlike many highly specialized southern roles, this position offers the breadth of practice that allows you to use and grow your full clinical skillset. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to culturally responsive care and learn from Indigenous communities and diverse language experiences across the North.
Step outside your door and within minutes you can be walking the Frame Lake Trail, paddling the waters of Great Slave Lake, or watching curtains of green aurora dance across the night sky.
