Job summary

The University of Manitoba is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to work in the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut on an out-of-province basis. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team to deliver accessible and culturally relevant services to clients of all ages in various settings.

Opportunities include potential transition to an ongoing part-time SLP with travel to Nunavut and occasional home-based telerehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology and current registration to practice
• Certification with SAC or eligibility for certification
• Experience with preschool and school-age children; 2+ years preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate clinical assessment to diagnose language and communication disorders using standardized tools
• Implement and evaluate interventions to support clients' language and communication goals
• Develop program plans for individuals and groups in school, pre-school, or home settings
• Teach, supervise and evaluate students and clinical trainees
• Maintain written procedures and records; ensure confidentiality and professional ethics
